Emirates Airlines offers showers in-flight - with pictures

See that happy-looking lady in the pic? She's standing in an Emirates A380 in-flight shower room, details of which have emerged recently. The "shower spas" are pretty decently kitted-out, and the aircraft carries an extra 1,100-pounds of water to allow every one of the 14 first-class passengers to have a splash.

As a result, the shower only runs for five minutes, and there's a traffic-light system to let you know how the time's going. And if you're planning on trying to form a new "mile-high, in the shower" club, you'd better forget it: the showers are small, "designed for single usage."
That extra 1,000 pounds of water (25% more than usual) means the aircraft will have to carry more fuel, which may weigh heavy on your environmental conscience. Or maybe lying in your massage bed in the private first class room, with remote-control doors and mini bar will make you forget your woes.

The ultimate laptop for gaming

PC MicroWorks wants to set the record straight by claiming that its Edge gaming laptop is the most powerful in the world, but I would take that pitch with a grain of salt. Check out the specifications below and judge for yourself :-

- Intel Core 2 Extreme Quad Core QX9300 (2.53GHz) Processor
- 8GB Ultra Speed DDR3 1333MHz Memory
- 500GB HDD or 128GB SSD
- NVIDIA Geforce 9800M GT graphics with 512MB DDR3 memory
- Blu-ray drive
- 15.4" HD WUXGA 1920 x1200 Crystal-View X-treme Bright LCD
- 8 Channel Advanced SRS WOW Surround Sound System
- Wireless a/b/g/n, Bluetooth, optional EV-DO, GPS
- TV Tuner
- Finger Print Reader
- Windows Vista Ultimate

Prices start from $2,634 upwards, and if you think you must get your high-end gaming no matter where you are, the top-of-the-line configuration will cost you a pocket-burning $6,659 thereabouts.

Wireless USB Camera Receiver

PC recording surveillance cameras offer an excellent alternative to security cameras that have traditionally hooked up to a TV set. The PC enabled cameras allow greater flexibilty in terms of managing and monitoring what it is being recorded. This USB wireless camera receiver allows a person to see what is being recorded from anywhere in the house with its wireless facilty.

Set-up of the Wireless USB Camera Receiver is surprisingly easy. All you need to do is install the software driver (included) on your desktop computer or laptop and then plug the wireless receiver into a USB port. The receiver automatically syncs up with most cameras in range. From there, all you need to do is open the program on your computer and you can then watch the camera’s recordings in real time.

One of the better features with this Wireless USB Camera Receiver is its ability to switch between up to four channels. So if you have four different surveillance cameras in the house or office, you can easily switch between them and know exactly what is going on in your house or office at anytime.

Another good feature is the ability to record the surveillance video to the computer’s harddrive. This is particularly useful when you want to keep several weeks or months worth of surveillance video in storage, just in case you need it.

For those who are afraid the Wireless USB Camera Receiver might require a very high-spec computer will be relieved to know that the device will run on any computer running Windows XP or Vista. Other requirements include an 80GB harddrive and at least 512MB of memory.

This camera receiver is nothing spectacular as there are others with greater performance available, but at a price of $57.20 (just under £30), it is an affordable way to keep tabs on their surveillance from anywhere in the home.

New 50 megapixels camera from Kodak !!!

And you thought your 12 megapixel camera is overkill: Kodak announced a new flagship product for its full frame CCD sensors, which creates digital images with a resolution of 50.1 megapixels. Hasselblad will be the first manufacturer to integrate the sensor in its cameras and yes, the camera will have a lunar price.
The new KAF-50100 image sensor replaces the nearly three year old 39 megapixel KAF-39000 as the highest performing image sensor Kodak sells. The CCD measures 49.8 x 36.8 mm, which is twice the size of a regular high-end DSLR CCD, but the same size as the KAF-39000 CCD. The new model includes a total of 51.6 million square pixels measures 6.0 μm x 6.0 μm, which is substantially smaller than the 6.8 μm pixels of the KAF-39000.

The resulting images are nothing less than impressive. Kodak says that at 50 megapixels, you could easily detect an object the size of a notebook computer in an image that is covering a width of 1.5 miles. Not surprisingly, the main application field of the chip will be industrial and aerial photography. Pricing of the chip was withheld. However, industry sources recently told us that the KAF-39000 CCD is priced north of $1000.

Hasselblad confirmed that it will be using the new Kodak chip for a new flagship camera of its H3DII series. The already announced H3DII-50, scheduled for a release later this year, will create 65 MB RAW or 150 MB TIFF image files at a rate of 1.1 images per second and 33 images per minute. Images can be stored on U-DMA CF cards, a 100 GB hard drive solution or a directly connected Mac or PC.

The camera weighs 2290 grams, more than four pounds, and will be priced above the 39 megapixel model: Hasselblad said that the H3DII-50 will be available in October of this year for $39,995.

10 reasons why an Ultra Mobile PC is better than Netbook

As I look at the UMPCPortal product pages today I see something I have never seen before. The top 10 most popular devices, based on visitor clicks, are all notebooks. 4 of them are touchscreen convertibles but the rest are plain old low-cost, dare I say boring, netbooks. I knew it would happen at some point. Low-cost = Raised Eyebrows. We’re all suckers for a bargain but these are not the mobile devices I’d prefer to see high up on the list. Where’s the ever-useful Q1 Ultra or the MID-before-its-time Raon Digital Everun? When I think of UMPCs I think about features and smaller sizes and not run-of-the-mill designs and ultra-low costs.

My main job in life is to promote UMPCs. I believe in them and I believe others will benefit from them. Netbooks are definitely a valid choice in the mobile computing space and, just like i’m happy that the iPhone is introducing Mobile Internet to millions, I’m happy that netbooks are introducing more millions to mobile computing. I will continue to report and highlight products in these areas and under no circumstances would I say that smartphones or netbooks are bad choices. But when it comes to mobile computing, there are some features that make certain devices stand out from the crowd. The term UMPC - Ultra Mobile PC - is the term that is most applicable to these mobile-focused computers.

So here’s a little UMPC love. It’s a list of 10 reasons why a mobile PC is better than a netbook. You may not agree but by the end of the list, you should get a feel for what I believe a UMPC is.

Design choice. You get the choice of clamshell, slider, modular, tablet or notebook style. Sizing to suit your hands. Style to suit your eyes. The design-space for UMPCs is far more varied and you’re likely to find something that really fits your needs.

Battery life. UMPCs tend to have better battery life than netbooks. Historically they’ve been built around old notebook CPUs but today, that’s changing. Expect to see far better energy efficiency in Mobile devices compared to Netbooks as the designers put autonomy high on the list of features.

Size. You want it sub 400gm, you got it! 1KG is for tables. 600gm for two hands. 400gm is for the pocket and holding with a single hand. You decide.

Touchscreen. Touchscreens are quick. Touchscreens are fun. Touchscreens enable far more usage scenarios. Handwriting. Annotating. In-Car use. Gesture-based UIs. A few mods on the XP user interface and even that can be quick and fun.

Mobility features. Fingerprint readers to save on typing. High-brightness screens. Rugged builds. High-speed SSD drives. Modular builds. Built-in 3

G modems. One of these features might appeal to you. You won’t find them on netbooks!

Accessories. Car mounts. Keyboards. Docking stations. Multiple battery options. Cases. Sleeves and a lot more. UMPCs can be modified in ways that other PC designs can’t.

Usage scenarios. Bed, Sofa, Bus, train, plane, two-handed, one-handed, standing, sitting, driving, biking, flying. Kicking back with a PC has never been so relaxing.

Lead the way. Mobile computing and mobile Internet are coming because to many people, it brings advantages in being connected to people and information. Integrate it into your life now and start reaping the advantages immediately.

Increase productivity. As a result of the size and features, you’ll start to find that an Ultra Mobile computer works in places you never thought of working before. Traffic jams. Waiting lines and outside the changing room while you are waiting for your partner to try on that 5th dress.

It’s fun. Its fun to learn different ways to use a mobile computer. Its fun to choose a new device. It’s fun to be connected. UMPCs are fun!

Slumdog Millionaire stars Frieda Pinto and Dev Patel spotted cuddling on date

It's not acting any more... Slumdog Millionaire couple Frieda Pinto and Dev Patel now look like real-life lovers.

The pair, said to have started a relationship on the set of the Oscar-winning film, were spotted cuddling on a date in Israel after Dev, 18, flew out to visit her. And sources say they have also been seen kissing.

Frieda, 24 is filming her latest movie around Jerusalem but took the night off to meet Dev in a cosy bar where they sipped white wine.

An onlooker said: “She couldn’t help cuddling up to him. They kept staring into each other’s eyes.

“They were certainly acting like a couple, especially when she put her head on his shoulder.

“The only time they split up was when they left the bar and tried to act like they weren’t together.”

The pair have previously denied a romance. Last month Frieda said: “I won’t talk about my relationship with Dev.” He has said: “She is very beautiful but there’s no romance.”

You quite sure about that, Dev?

Mobile tracking system, Google Latitude

Google Latitude is now live, a new service from Google that allows you to send your location to Google Maps and share it with friends via many mobile phones (not the iPhone yet, but that’s coming). Greg Sterling will have our own review of the service posted later today.

Latitude adds location tracking to the Google Maps mobile application and to iGoogle on the desktop. You can track yourself and anyone with a Google account who has either installed the latest 3.0 version of mobile Maps or a new iGoogle Latitude gadget. The way it works is that when you start Maps you are prompted if you want to join Latitude and "See your friends on the map". If you accept you are asked for your Google account credentials and then shown a tag list of your Gmail contacts . Check off the contacts you want to share location info with and Google sends each one an email inviting them to join Latitude and share their location with you. If they accept, you can see them on the map and they can see you. Location sharing in Latitude is strictly between friends by mutual consent, it's not possible to share your location publicly. Latitude has the ability to continue sharing your location in the background. When you close the app you are prompted whether to allow this or not. If you decide to allow background sharing I suggest you go into Map's Settings menu and deselect "Use GPS" which will force Maps and Latitude to use cell IDs to locate you which should help battery life considerably.

None of this is really new, in fact it's very similar to what Mologogo, Socialight and Loopt have been doing for a couple of years. None of these services have really caught on in a big way. However, I think Latitude will be huge. Previous friend tracking apps have had a hard time growing because there is a lot of friction to the network building process. First you have to know about the service and install the mobile app, then you have convince your friends to do the same, and then everyone needs to run the app all the time. It's hard to create much of a network that way. With Google the network is already there in Gmail which has around 100 million users. Google's mobile Maps application is surely one of the most popular of installable apps as well. Virtually everyone knows someone with a Gmail account. The network is huge and Latitude is highly viral in that it offers to invite everyone in your contact list whether they have a Google account or not.

Sharing your location is a little scary, Latitude attempts to reduce the fear by an emph

asis on security which is quite fine grained in the service. First there is the double opt-in,

both parties must agree to simultaneously share their location, users can chose to share only their city

rather than an exact location or even manually enter a location which could, of course, be anywhere including places where they aren't

I'm betting t

hat Google has big plans for Latitude particularly in the social networking area. The benefits to Google of knowing the users location are pretty obvious when it comes to ad targeting so they have a lot of motivation to make this succeed. The beginnings of a social network are already visible in Lati

tute. You can set your status and upload a photo from within Maps. Your friend's photos and status appear on the map and their Google profiles are a click away. Latitude also gives you options to connect with nearby friends using Gmail, Google Talk or SMS. I can see further possibilities for so

cial networking in the form of integration with Google's FriendConnect and OpenSocial and maybe even Google's neglected stepchild of a social network, Orkut.

Latitude is available now for color BlackBerry devices, Windows Mobile 5.0 and above and most Symbian S60 devices by visiting google.com/latitude with our mobile browser. Install the Latitude iGoogle gadget by visiting the same URL on your PC. Latitude is rumored to be part of the 1.1 RC33 update for Android that could be rolled out as soon as tomorrow. Google also promises support so

on for the iPhone and iPod Touch and "many" Sony Ericsson phones.

Lets see what google says about google latitude.

With Google Latitude,

you can:

  • See where your friends are and what they are up to
  • Quickly contact them with SMS, IM, or a phone call
  • Control what your location is and who gets to see it
Share locations
Location sharing starts only when both you and a friend agree. Invite friends via email or easily add them from your Gmail contacts.

Control privacy
You can share, set, or hide your location - or turn off Google Latitude - from the privacy menu. You can also hide your location or share only a city-level location with certain friends.

Share status
Create a status message and upload your photo within Latitude. It also syncs directly with Google Talk. Check your friends' status messages to see what your friends are up to.

Contact your friends
Quickly contact your friends with an SMS, IM, or phone call. You can also get directions to lead you to your friends.

Mobile: Supported phones
Google Latitude is available on the following mobile devices wherever Google Maps for mobile v3.0 and above is supported:

- Android-powered devices with Maps v3.0 and above. G1 users in the US will be receiving Maps v3.0 in a system update soon.
- Most color BlackBerry devices
- Most Windows Mobile 5.0 and above devices. Note: Some Windows Mobile devices don't support cell-ID location detection.
- Most Symbian S60 devices

Coming soon!
- iPhone and iPod touch devices with the Google Mobile App (in the US)
- Many Sony Ericsson devices

Note: Some older versions of these devices cannot support Google Maps for mobile version 3.0 and above and will receive the most recent compatible version without Google Latitude.

iGoogle gadget: Sharing location from iGoogle
To share your location using the Google Latitude iGoogle gadget, you can either set your location manually or have it detected automatically using Gears for your supported web browser. Gears is a browser plug-in with a Geolocation API that allows Latitude to detect your approximate location using Google's WiFi location database.

To have your location detected automatically, Latitude and Gears require wireless access or access to a WiFi network router to use Google's WiFi location database. Use the following general steps to start sharing your location automatically:

1. Add the Latitude gadget to your iGoogle homepage.
2. Install Gears by going to http://gears.google.com/ or going to the gadget's Privacy tab and selecting 'Learn more' > 'Get Gears.'
3. When prompted by Gears for permission, allow Latitude to access your location.
4. Check that you have allowed the gadget to detect your location in the Privacy tab. You may need to refresh iGoogle.

You can always change your privacy settings at any time from the privacy menu.

First Google Phone Unveiled in US

Mobile service provider T- Mobile on Tuesday launched the first cell phone powered by a operating system development by Internet giant Google in the United States, and the companies expect to sell at least 200,000 of the handset by the year end.

The G1 smart phone, which mimic many of the features of Apple's popular iPhone, features a touch screen and a fold out keyboard. The device will be available for customers exclusively through T- Mobile in the United States from October, the companies said.

The device will be the first Google phone available in the market after Google announced last year to develop an open-source operation system called Android for wireless devices that could encourage new application development.

"With Android, we've opened the mobile Web not only for millions of users, but also to mobilize the developer community that understands the next most important platform in the world rests in the palm of our hand," said Andy Rubin, Google's senior director of mobile platforms, in a statement.

T-Mobile is expected to charge customers 179 U.S. dollars for a G1 handset with a two-year contract, or 20 dollars less than the iPhone, in an effort to lure new customers and compete with the popular Apple product.

T-Mobile, which is owned by Germany's Deutsche Telekom AG, said it will launch the device in Britain in November and in other European markets early next year. Industry analysts estimate that as many as 9 million units of G1 phone would be sold globally for next year.

First Google Android Phone to Cost $199

The first mobile phone to use Google Inc's Android mobile operating software will cost US$199, the Wall Street Journal reported on its Web site on Wednesday.

The phone, which features a slide-out keypad, will be sold by Deutsche Telekom's T-Mobile USA unit, which plans to unveil the device at an event in New York on September 23.

AT&T Inc, the only U.S. operator selling Apple Inc's iPhone, set the price of the latest version at $199 in July, setting a benchmark for smartphones that can surf the Web, manage email and other multimedia features.

The Journal, citing people familiar with the matter, said T-Mobile USA plans to release new data service plans in conjunction with the Google phone that will be "aggressively priced."

Google and T-Mobile USA declined comment on the pricing for the phone.

Unable to Open Hard or USB Flash Drive with Windows Script Host Cannot Find Script File autorun.vbs Error

My Windows Box Infected with virus!!! Yes, some time I need to use M$ Windowz for few of my clients. Any way, when I was looking for solution I found following article:

Unable to Open Hard or USB Flash Drive with Windows Script Host Cannot Find Script File autorun.vbs Error

In some situation especially when anti-virus program has cleaned, healed, disinfected or removed a worm, trojan horse or virus from computer, there may be error happening whenever users try to open or access the drive by double clicking on the disk drive icon in Explorer or My Computer window to try to enter the drive’s folder. The problem or symptom happens in hard disk drive, portable hard disk drive or USB flash drive, and Windows will prompt a dialog box with the following message:

Windows Script Host

Can not find script file autorun.vbs.

Sometimes you will be asked to debug the VBScript with error code of 800A041F - Unexpected ‘Next’.

or

Choose the program you want to use to open this file with:

In this case, the “Always use the selected program to open this kind of file” option is grayed out.

The symptom occurs because when autorun.vbs is created by trojan horse or virus. The virus normally loads autorun.inf file to root folder of all hard drive or USB drive, and then execute autorun.bat file which contains script to apply and merge autorun.reg into the registry, with possible change to the following registry key to ensure that virus is loaded when system starts:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
Userinit=userinit.exe,autorun.exe

Finally, autorun.bat will call wscript.exe to run autorun.vbs.

When antivirus or security software detected the autorun.vbs file as infected, the file will be deleted or removed or quarantined. However, other files (autorun.*) and registry value still referring to autorun.vbs, and this document no longer exists, hence the error when users double click to open a drive folder.

To correct and solve this error, follow this steps:

1. Run Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del or right click on Taskbar)
2. Stop wscript.exe process if available by highlighting the process name and clicking End Process.
3. Then terminate explorer.exe process.
4. In Task Manager, click on File -> New Task (Run…).
5. Type “cmd” (without quotes) into the Open text box and click OK.
6. Type the following command one by one followed by hitting Enter key:

del c:\autorun.* /f /s /q /a
del d:\autorun.* /f /s /q /a
del e:\autorun.* /f /s /q /a

c, d, e each represents drive letters on Windows system. If there are more drives or partitions available, continue to command by altering to other drive letter. Note that you must also clean the autorun files from USB flash drive or portable hard disk as the external drive may also be infected.
7. In Task Manager, click on File -> New Task (Run…).
8. Type “regedit” (without quotes) into the Open text box and click OK.
9. Navigate to the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
10. Check if the value name and value data for the key is correct (the value data of userint.exe include the path which may be different than C drive, which is also valid, note also the comma which is also needed):

“Userinit”=”C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe,”

If the value is incorrent, modify it to the valid value data.

Actually I just ignored the section as I found no autorun.inf file any of my drives:

6. Type the following command one by one followed by hitting Enter key:

del c:\autorun.* /f /s /q /a
del d:\autorun.* /f /s /q /a
del e:\autorun.* /f /s /q /a

But I was wrong!!! In blank eyes no file was there, even enabling 'Show all hidden file' failed to display any autorun.inf file on drive root. Even command:

del c:\autorun.inf failed, returned 'autorun.inf not found!'.

Now that box is working again... Thanks to author of article above for this nice article. Original version of article can be found here. If I get some time, I will update the last steps for new users...

Happy Linuxing...

Thanks

We need Paypal in Bangladesh right now

I think we have restriction on sending money from Bangladesh. We can send money with very specific status like student file, License of contract etc. The law, i think, may be to protect people to send black money. But in my opinion, black money has its alternative way and poor people like me is suffering when trying to send a few dollars for domain registration and buying books.

But in case of receiving money there is no restriction. This way should be freely open.

4 Tips to Put Your Money Making Website Into Overdrive

There are many people these days who are trying to earn a living on the internet, but do not have a money making website. There are millions of blogs and websites out there that are not profitable at all. Most of these people eventually give up and they will leave the internet business forever.

In this article, there are four tips to jumpstart your money making website so you are not another Internet business failure.

1. Put your emphasis into getting back links to your website. A back link is a road map pointing to your website.

The website which gets the most traffic is usually the one with the most backlinks. You can get traffic by buying it, or you can use the many free methods available. Regardless of how you choose to accomplish it, do what you need to get your website address on somebody else's website as many times as possible.

2. Feature a sign up form to a free report that you are giving away. Regardless of the type of internet business that you have, you can use this strategy to your benefit.

Your goal very simply is to build a list of names and email addresses that you can follow up with in the future. This is another way that you are going to make money off of your website. This mailing list can be worth several thousand dollars to you every month as you develop it and learn how to use it correctly.

3. Simplify your website so that it is easy to get around in. Decide what the focus of your website is going to be and create your navigation around this. Offer your visitors a way to bookmark your site so they can come back in the future.

4. Cut down the number of products that you are selling. Most websites are cluttered with so much information and products that people leave feeling overwhelmed.

If you have a handful of favorite products, then feature those. You might even go so far as to feature just one product until you are profitable, and then add another one.

The best way to do that is to promote a product that you have a personal attachment to. Then, just tell your visitors what you like about the product and why they would like it as well.

One Click Can Infected You With Malware or Spyware

One click is all it takes to be infected and for the avid PC user, it would be wise to make sure that you look before you click. Malware issues can come in different forms like:

1. Emails
2. Popups
3. Links via Instant Messaging

In fact, even if you know the person who sent you the link, you cannot entirely rely on your relationship and trust with them as the main reason for clicking on the link. This was done before but today, people have to be aware that there are some accounts that can be easily hacked or even impersonated.

Much of these issues have plagued us through the years. Some have had their share of problems dealing with Malware and Trojans. They are different from viruses but sometimes, they can do more harm compared to the traditional viruses.

Even having anti-virus or anti-spyware protection is not guarantee from being contaminated with them. Remember, a click is all that it takes and all hell will break loose. For most, it is easy to remedy since they can reformat their computer. But think about the files you may lose from the moment you click on these links.

It may be hard to save these files since chances are they have already been infected. With that said, your files and PC are practically good as dead. So the moral of the lesson is, don’t be trigger happy with clicking. You are just raisin the stakes of being infected by doing so.
